2015 William Shiraz
We have continued the William name with our 2015 Estate Shiraz. This is in honour of Phil’s Great Grandfather William Meehan who immigrated from Tipperary in 1854. He, like so many other new migrants to the Colony, made his way to the Victorian goldfields with his new wife Catherine (Sheehan, also from Tipperary).
William was tragically killed in a mine collapse at a place called New Year flat, close to Fryers Creek (now known as Fryerstown)
155 years ago on the 12th of May 1865.
An almost mystical and a complete coincidence is that we bottled our 2014 wines on the same date as his burial, May 14th!
William left a wife and 5 young children, one of whom was my Grandfather, Cornelius then 4 years old.
Excellent colour; a rich, riper and more complex wine that its varietal sibling, spice, oak and a pinch of pepper running through the succulent fruit; ripe tannins build on the finish.

2017 Heathcote Shiraz
The bouquet is a complex blend of dark berries, soft oak tannins, white pepper with a hint of mint. The palate perfectly reflects the bouquet with a beautifully balanced acid finish. 14 months of barrel maturation, leaves a luscious soft mouth feel that lingers on the palate.
Cellaring 2031 14% Alcohol

2016 Tempranillo
The fruit is grown in the north of the Heathcote region where the climate is closer to the warmer “home” of Tempranillo, in Spain. This variety is usually at peak ripeness when sugar levels are higher and acid is lower, resulting in a softer palate with higher alcohol. Matured with minimal oak contact, this wine bears an explosion of all the complex cherry, herbal, plum and spice flavors on the palate, beautiful mouth feel and a full flavored finish.
A compliment to almost any food, but particularly well paired to savory dishes.
Cellaring 2026 13.5% Alcohol

2015 Cabernet
The wine displays the luscious full berry flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a broad middle palate and excellent balance. This wine has a complex nose combining fresh berries, a hint of licorice and French oak maturation rounding the vital tannin finish. The palate reflects these characters together with just a hint of pepper and finishes with excellent mouth-feel.
